Using the instructions in the linked thread, I have managed to get my old copy to run! (It was not easy, and required the no-CD hack.) Unfortunately it has demonstrated a tendency to crash upon entering a new area, but so far every time I've reloaded and tried again it's worked the second time.

I'm glad to be replaying this game - I didn't like it much when I first played it in 1999, but looking back I've often wondered if nineteen-year-old me was wrong about it. I think what put me off at the time is that it's very different to the first two Discworld games. (There's also another thing about it that I didn't like, but I'll get to that when we're up to it.)

So far, I'm impressed by how good it looks after thirteen years, and the intro is indeed great.
