I have the same problem when hearing English. I hear incorrect just like you. And it isn't getting any better in time
Most of the time I just read and listen to the character's expression. Also, I never buy games that don't support subtitles. I am currently playing Half-Life 2 (first time playthrough), which has some beautiful voice acting, along with Paradise which also has great voice acting. For some reason I tend to mishear a lot more words in Half-Life 2 than in Paradise. Good thing they both have subtitles.
Once I saw a Finnish social movie. I loved the sound of the language and the movie was great. Very civilized. I was always wondering, how does the average Finnish feel about Russian and Swedish people? What other languages is the Finnish language related to?
