Thanks a lot for all the answers guys! I decided to start with King's Quest 1, as it seems most Sierra-games does indeed have these problems, and King's Quest 1 after all is a fairly uncomplicated game to play if you just save all the time.
However, I have one question:
Spoiler:I managed to get the key from the gnome without knowing his name, but what would happen if I actually did guess his name? And in that case, how would I know his name?
