Yeah, I'm at a loss on these graphic whiners too. Animations are a bit stiff but I don't really care. The 2D pre-rendered art is beautiful. So much more inspired than say, Telltale Game's 3D Tales of Monkey Island engine (which I just think has a horrifically ugly art syle) where every character is literally a copy/paste of the same 3D model.
