Odd. I'm in the UK, and it definitely says £17.99, reduced from £19.99. Yeah, backups are handy, but I like the service Steam provides. It's genuinely convenient, does away with any need for physical copies or even digital backups, and with Steam Cloud you can even use your saves on different computers without having to do anything to transfer them over.
