That was a very promising, atmospheric demo indeed. Before playing, I had been sceptical about using such a unique graphical style (far more reminiscent of
The Dark Eye's stop-motion than of
The Neverhood's, by the way) for such a seemingly down-to-earth premise (a young couple moves in together), but now I realise the plot is probably going to take a turn for the surreal pretty quickly. (I guess the title of the game should have clued me in.
) Hopefully not at the expense of interesting character interactions, because I'd rather like to see this personal angle explored, but the fact that the beginning seemed inspired by
The Longest Journey and
Gabriel Knight 1 makes me quite optimistic about that.
I'll be keeping an eye on this. Has anybody been trying the open beta?
