This is indeed hilarious! 
As for the three different Gabriels, even if The Beast Within was my first adventure in the series, I had no problem with the other two, because originally I played GK2 in Italian (wonderful localization, by the way! The best I've ever seen in a computer game). Even when I later played GK1, it was the floppy version without voice acting. So, in the end, I heard Tim Curry version of Gabriel for the first time only in GK3
