It's MUCH MUCH better with the expansion, as was Diablo II. The expansion chapter is vast and very interesting, and the arcane formulae/artifacts are fun -- try to collect them all!

I'm glad to see that it includes multiplayer - I didn't mention in my earlier post that Torchlight lacks this feature, which kind of sucks. Most of my Diablo play has been with at least one other player, which makes it more fun in my opinion.

Apparently the Torchlight devs are in the process of adding multiplayer and some other stuff as downloadable content.
