I have the strangest love-hate relationship with new
Who (working my way through series 4 now). Episodes range from brilliant (
Shakespeare Code,
School Reunion, or anything Moffat), to embarassing (
Fear Her, anything with Slitheens), with anything in between (series finales tend to be an even mix of the amazing and the eye-roll inducing, for example).
It is bound to improve greatly after Moffat takes over, though. And I don't worry about the new lead too much, because I had thought nobody could ever replace Eccleston after his final episode, and was
so wrong.
And concerning
Lost, I'd side with those who consider fifth the weakest season. The finale was pretty disappointing, too.
Spoiler:The present-time events were exciting, and promise good things for the final season (the reveal about Locke is easily one of the Top Five "Holy Shit!" Moments of the show's run), but the payoff of the Dharma stuff, which made a bulk of the story, was surprisingly devoid of surprises.
