What do you mean exactly? I learned by experience, just by trying things out and making lots and lots of pictures. It took me 6 years before I knew I wanted a DSLR. I started with a simple Canon camera. Although it was simple, you could set everything by hand. Later I bought a better camera with 10x zoom. That was a lot of fun. Eventually I grew out of that camera too, and I bought the Nikon. It certainly is an expensive camera, but it is worth the money.
