How does that not make someone assume it makes you feel that its to underwhelming to be properly considered a sequel. You say it yourself that it can easily be in the first game without the need of a sequel. Thats also ignoring the fact that the engine is drastically changed enough to have to redo a lot of the gameplay.
There is no reason to have to change all the previous maps/campaigns just because they evolved the engine and its gameplay.
Its like saying every adventure game with the same engine and gameplay could easily just be an addon to another game. L4D2 has enough new content and features to reckon a sequel.
