i don't think we should be afraid of "insulting" them, as long as it's constructive. they should be afraid of insulting us with a poorly thought out design. the name monkey island is too important to be lazy and irreverent in developing.
i would honestly be more excited about a new MI if it looked exactly like the special edition original graphics. at least those have soul.
