That reminded me just how much I miss adventure games without highlighted hotspots. Sure, it took pixel hunts to levels we'll never experience again, but it was so much more rewarding to find something after scanning the environments for clues than to just get a "this is important!" popup when your cursor happens to pass over something of interest.
