Sleep Hollow
I'm not quite sure what I thought of this particular Burton film. It's supposed to be a horror film, but it's not very scary. It's supposed to be a detective story, but the detective elements don't work. The main character doesn't believe in spirits, and yet it turns out that there actually is a spirit at work, which seems like a bit of a cop-out. The plot as it stands seems to be almost entirely explained by that cliché of clichés, the villain monologue.
It's an okay film. And it looks nice.
