I found five Ellery Queen books on eBay and put in lowball bids, confidently expecting to be outbid on most of them. And I've ended up winning all of them. They're all bargains and none are duplicates, but I'm going to be in SO MUCH TROUBLE when they start arriving.

I'm forbidden to buy books, you see. This blanket ban doesn't actually prevent book-buying, but it usually keeps it to an acceptably low level. Five entering the house in a week might not be low enough. I'll have to claim them as my (early) birthday present.

To make matters worse, I've just blown a bundle on Amazon, too:

(Yes, I know this looks a bit like an Odd-One-Out puzzle, but never mind.)

I'm dead.
