That's not a cutscene, that's in Theodore's notebook in the end. (Well, I've re-read the part, and "turned herself in" is not exactly accurate, but she didn't try to flee or anything, just stayed at her home until someone came to find her, and she immediately confessed her crime. So there definitely
is an interesting change of behaviour here.)

I'm not sure. I remember trying, and if you just let the game pick the direction (left), I think you just go in circles until you decide to pick right.
