I think that virtually all Americans are aware of our historical injustices involving Native Americans, slaves, Japanese internment, and the nuclear bombings. We are hardly a perfect nation. It is important to respect the past and these events should be a part of our national consciousness. But what is your point in bringing up the bombings of Japan in a remembrance thread about 9/11? Are you implying that bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki somehow justify the September 11th attacks, or somehow mitigate the impact of the attacks?
