Like I said, I totally understand why you would go for 3D. There should be ways, however, to make the characters a bit less static even in 3D. Maybe you've got a friend around who knows a bit about the semiotics of animation?
BUT, I agree with your statement: if the writing and atmosphere is good, much can be forgiven. And in Kaptain Brawe's case, there is very,
