They're also free of pressure from publishers and deadlines. Also, are you talking about independent developers in the adventure gaming genre? Outside of Scratches, could you name some, please?
Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but when the money runs out, most people who are gainfully employed in the game industry stop working. I don't think that argument is rubbish at all.
