It's also a joke. We don't really form kittens with wire (Well, I don't anyway)
I think you'd be hard put to get any cat to stand still for this sort of thing anyway. I find it hard enough to get mine to hold still for her anti-flea treatment which is just a couple of drops of liquid on the back of her neck.
