I wouldn`t say it`s about fighting at all. Yes, it has fighting elements, but the core of the gameplay IMO is the exploring and the puzzle element in how to mount the colossus and eventually how to kill it. The actual fighting is a fairly easy task in itself. I felt I did more "fighting" in ICO than in SotC.
