Making recommendations based on your preferences;
Rage Against The Machine (very invigorating, the first for songs on Battle For Los Angeles are a real killer punch. Always remind me of The Matrix)
Ash (Irish pop-punk. Hardly lyrically deep, but simply brilliant pop music. "Burn Baby Burn" and "Orpheus" are my favourites)
Idlewild (Their earlier album are straight-up hard rock, but recently they have explored pop and country to good effect. Have a knack for anthemic vocal lines (and a weakness for tautology). I would recommend the songs "What If You Held The World In Your Arms", "A Little Discourage", "When I Argue I See Shapes", and "El Capitan")
Desaparecidos (More obscure. They are basically a side project of Emo-Indie-Folkster Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), But sound nothing like it. They play hard-rock with a political message about consumerism and US foreign policy. They only have one album (Read Music, Speak Spanish) but have new material planned.)
