Are you sure? I just might not have worded it well.
Spoiler:Using the green card on the door (step 3) puts it under the door and turns it into "card on floor". But you don't want to take the "card on floor" back out (step 5) until there's a key on it (which gets there by using the cane on the keyhole, step 4).
