Two more bits:
Get yourself a competent background artist. Attempting the Schafer style gives one a lot of design leeway, but the stuff you've got here is utterly gank on simple principles. Lousy perspective, poor angles, reeks of trying to cap off the CMI approach but fails to meet it even an eighth of the way.
Compared to the guy or gal who turned out that beautifully inked pirate pic, it just looks like something mom would tack on the fridge.
And yeah, that 'Brush model scares me. He looks like he needs to eat some ham and butter or something.
