Actually, for all we know, Vivendi and the KQIX management had ongoing contact and, for whatever reason, this is the result. Perhaps Vivendi wanted distribution rights, perhaps KQIX refused, and so on. We have no idea what might've transpired behind-the-scenes between Vivendi and KQIX, or for how long, or why this was the outcome.
