I think the PC port of FF8 is harder to find in the US. FF7 was out on store shelves longer and was rereleased in the "platinum edition" at some point. I get the impression it's easier to find (or maybe I just come across copies more often?) As far as I know, there was only the one release of FF8 (in the shiny prism-like box... WHY did I throw that away?!
) and it was not available in stores for very long.
