I really enjoyed the realism in Police Quest 4. STUPID ending, but I didn't mind the police reports, or the graphics.

For games I might skip... probably Riven and Exile. Even though I own them. (Two copies of each, actually!) Just... bah, the thought of sitting through them makes me wince.
