Our parents must be of the same ilk. We only ever logged on to Prodigy so I could get a hint on whatever game I was playing at the time, and my dad was always there over my shoulder telling me where to click so we could find the hint that much faster. I was all agast and wanting to explore and he kept going "Click there! Game hints! Don't you see?!"
Bah. I still have nightmares about it.
