I think those little hints, if used sparingly, can be indeed amusing and make for the illusion of a well-thought plot. Most of them were rather obvious, I have to admit though.
I voted 'nice'. I did really enjoy the movie, but three weeks after (being now), I'm not really giddy about it anymore. I was also somewhat disappointed with it, but I don't exactly know why. For me, the movie never really hit the spot, neither in scenery, nor in terms of plot or dialogue.
Spoiler:Best scene in the movie was when Jack was rowing back to the pirate's cavern with a huge satisfied smile on his face. That, and Barbossa's wonderful line ,,I feel... cold.". Of course, the entire crowd in the cinema thought it was meant as a joke and laughed out loud. I think I was the only one who was chilled because of its beauty.
