Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done.

Glass Rose  (2004)

Glass Rose has some punishing time restrictions and frustrating game mechanics, but there is an intriguing mystery to solve here if you’re willing to follow the convoluted plot to the end.

Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage  (2010)

Darkness Within 2 is an impressive technical upgrade over the original, but its eerie atmosphere is somewhat spoiled by a few key issues that drain the potential enjoyment.

The Filmmaker  (2010)

The Filmmaker opens with a clever concept and offers plenty of puzzles, but is let down by some uninspired gameplay and minimal integration.

Hidden Mysteries: Titanic - Secrets of the Fateful Voyage  (2009)

Hidden Mysteries: Titanic can be a pleasant enough diversion if you're interested in a very lite adventure with tons of brainteasers scattered along the way, but it badly squanders its fascinating subject matter with a lackluster story.

Art of Murder: Cards of Destiny  (2010)

With much stronger dialogue and voice acting, Cards of Destiny could have been a solid murder mystery. This, sadly, is still just the art of mediocrity.

Theresia  (2008)

An old-school throwback to the late ‘80s, Theresia unveils a dark, compelling backstory that might appeal to horror fans, but everyone else may simply want to throw this punishing DS adventure back.

Genesis of the Gods  (2010)

Though Genesis of the Gods provides some intellectual challenges, the fact that they come more from abstract philosophy than gameplay will limit its appeal.

Chronicles of Mystery: The Tree of Life  (2009)

The Tree of Life is a game that may appeal to hardcore adventure gamers, but be prepared to overlook a lot of very fundamental faults.

Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child  (2009)

It’s not the worst game of the series in its own right, but Dream Chronicles 3 is all the more disappointing for still failing to resolve the easily-avoidable problems plaguing the series three games running.

Dream Chronicles  (2007)

As an early attempt to bridge the casual and “hardcore” audiences, Dream Chronicles is a welcome pioneer, but makes many of the same mistakes adventures often do, which could turn off as many as it attracts.

Rise of the Dragon  (1990)

If you like noir-style detective games, you'll probably have some fun with Rise of the Dragon, but those who play for challenging puzzles are better off looking elsewhere.

Dark Seed  (1992)

Dark Seed disappoints in both story development and gameplay, but it sports some splendid (for the time) production values and a sinister atmosphere, so horror fans might enjoy this journey inside Giger’s wicked imagination.

Phantasmagoria  (1995)

Phantasmagoria is deeply flawed, both in story and gameplay, but it was a bold experiment that spawned numerous followers, and even today manages to be frightening interactive movie in its own right.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary  (1992)

It's an authentic experience for fans of the show, but frustrating design flaws keep 25th Anniversary from being a particularly worthwhile experience for non-Trekkers.

Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Mummy (DS)  (2009)

Like its PC predecessor, this DS port isn’t one for Sherlock Holmes purists, but does provide a bit of puzzle-solving fun in between its problems.

Art of Murder: Hunt for the Puppeteer  (2009)

For better and worse, Hunt for the Puppeteer is a simple adventure without any pretensions. It can be relaxing filler easily played with your brain off, but lacks both the quality and character to bother with otherwise.

Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens  (2008)

Simon the Sorcerer 4 is an admirable attempt to reboot the once-popular series, but the end result fails to recapture the magic of the early entries in the series.

Inkheart  (2009)

Inkheart’s light pace and simple point-and-click gameplay may appeal to the kiddies, but most others will want to turn the page on this movie-based adventure.

CSI: NY  (2008)

The game’s less-than-forthright marketing has created false expectations of a new full-fledged adventure, but after you strip those away, there’s still some decent casual entertainment to be found in the CSI: NY office.

Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode 4 - Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective  (2008)

The most fan-centric entry of the series so far, this ultra-easy episode feels more like a lesser product of the buddy cop genre than a parody of it, and the episode is less funny as a consequence.
