Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done. Be sure to also check-out our Top 100 Adventure Games of all time, as well as the winners of the Adventure Game Awards (Aggies) that we hold on a yearly cadence.

Wanted: A Wild Western Adventure  (2004)

The graphics, characters, cinematics and other high points are unfortunately pulled down by an over-reliance on busy work gameplay and a shortage of fun challenges. The end result is a great game that might have been.

Simon the Sorcerer 3D  (2002)

This game really has divided people’s opinions and I’d ask you not to be drawn in by what you’ve heard. If you like Simon games, then you should play this--I swear it’s not as bad as everyone makes out!

Alida  (2004)

A quality product for its given niche of first-person graphic adventures. If you enjoy this sort of game, Alida is a worthwhile experience. Otherwise, set your sights on different fare.

Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch  (2004)

Overall, a pretty solid edition to the Nancy Drew library of games--even if it doesn't stand up as well as some of the others.

The Journeyman Project  (1993)

A worthy introduction to the Journeyman Project universe that lays groundwork for the sequels; recommended mostly to those planning on playing the entire trilogy.

Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel  (2003)

Not the best that the Nancy Drew series has to offer, but not the worst either.

AGON: Adventures in Lapland  (2003)

While still a game worth playing, Lapland doesn’t move the series forward as much as keep it running in place.

Obsidian  (1996)

A slightly above average sci-fi adventure; recommended for those who don't mind slideshow adventures.

Midnight Nowhere  (2003)

The puzzle structure, iffy dialogue, and subject matter make this a hard recommendation to a general audience. As the score indicates, unless you’re a hardcore horror/adventure fan, it might be wise to first play the demo, or await a price-drop.

The Black Mirror  (2003)

This is a game that, despite its flaws, will keep you playing for a long time - and keep you wondering about what a great game it could have been.

The Dark Eye

An inspired attempt at creating an interactive world based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Highly recommended as a unique experience, much less so as an actual game.

Schizm: Mysterious Journey  (2001)

: What can you say about a beautifully put together game that’s fun to play and explore? It’s unfortunate that the difficulty will often bring a screeching halt to this. With the proper patience, seeing Schizm through to the end will have its rewards.

Magnetic: The Game of Games  (2003)

The originality and addictiveness make this a quality gaming experience--but definitely not for everyone.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month  (2002)

The transition from TV cartoon to video game couldn’t be truer, both in presentation and delivery. A fun, short diversion for players of all ages.

Riddle of the Sphinx II: The Omega Stone  (2003)

Do you like first person perspective adventures? Travelling to exotic locales? Searching through dank caverns? Then give this game a try.

Noir: A Shadowy Thriller  (1996)

The game wasn't quite loaded, but it was definitely worth playing once.
