Review of FAR: Lone Sails by wisnoskij

Too Much About the Journey

The game either needed to abandon its adventure game style or double down far more than it did.

The sailing is boring. While there’s loads that a person can do to increase efficiency and sail better, it simply does not matter as FAR is designed like an adventure game that you cannot ever fail. Do a really really bad job and waste lots of fuel, you will still get to your destination.

But it is still a great ship with loads of personality. If only the stops were fleshed out, bigger, complicated, and places you wanted to explore.

As it stands the entire game is just too easy and without any real substance. It could of been a great Syberia-like adventure, but it left out intriguing destinations to explore and engaging puzzles. It could of been a fantastic LIMBO-like, but made failure impossible and the patforming consist of walking down corridors.
