Review of The Blackwell Deception by Niclas

Stars - 40

I really like Wadjet Eye’s games. This is the best part in the Blackwell series. The other games are OK, but not great. Blackwell Deception has by far the most involving script and story in the series so far. Very likeable main characters that you do care for, great story, excellent music, awesome voice acting, cool noir environments,  and lovely retro graphics. The only downside of this game is that the puzzles are pretty easy and there are not that many at all.  However the puzzles and investigations that you do are still pretty satisfying, as they are well integrated into the story and also pretty logical. Favorite puzzles are tracking down a lost cell phone, breaking in to a dorm room to gather several clues about someone, and two puzzles where you need to be creative in using different sources of light. If you like retro graphic adventure games with a great story and logical puzzles, then you should definitely pick this one up. Best enjoyed late at night with some good coffee. You won’t regret it.
