The LucasArts Chronicles: A Video Game History

Fans of video games and LucasArts alike have something to look forward to as Oldies Rising and Côté Gamers are releasing a comprehensive book about the history of the iconic studio. Entitled "The LucasArts Chronicles," the two-volume book written by Emmanuel Babarit, co-author of "Flashback '90," will review the company's history, created in the early 1980s, until its closure in 2013.

The book will delve into the key episodes in the life of Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts and how they intersected with the events that shook the video game industry as a whole. Topics such as how the studio survived the 1983 crash and how it adapted to the emergence of CD-ROMs and the transition to 3D technology will be explored. The book is filled with incredible anecdotes and an astronomical amount of period documents, some of which are still completely unpublished and are revealed exclusively in this book.

Collaboration and availability from important figures from the early days of LucasArts are also significant components of the book. It will include interviews with the main protagonists of the company, such as Gary Winnick, David Fox, Noah Falstein, Steve Purcell, Peter Langston, and even Jason Court, who were all willing to answer in detail all the questions asked.

The book's deluxe edition will also come with a package of goodies, such as two illustrations in A4 format, 6 bonus illustrations that reinvent the universe of various Point&Click games from LucasArts, and original ways to decorate your window dedicated to the firm or your Gaming Room. The book itself is a hardcover with 460 pages in A4 format and the pages are 100% in color.

The book will also cover the Star Wars games developed by LucasArts, including a chapter titled "Star Wars for Dummies" which will breakdown the Star Wars episodes with details about the different games for each. The book will also cover the Game Library of LucasArts, Lucas Learning and Cancelled Games, providing a complete picture of the legacy of LucasArts.

The LucasArts Chronicles is set to be an essential read for anyone interested in the history of video games and the legacy of LucasArts. With its in-depth coverage of the studio's history and many exclusive documents and anecdotes, it's a must-have for fans of the company and its games.
