The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Set to Launch on May 25th

Daedalic Entertainment and NACON have announced the highly anticipated release date for their adventure game, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The title is set to launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25th, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for later this year. Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the game takes players on an epic journey across Middle-earth, starring one of the most captivating characters: Sméagol, better known as Gollum.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven action-adventure game that follows Gollum's perilous journey in pursuit of the one thing most precious to him. Players must navigate dangers by climbing, leaping, and sneaking past obstacles, using Gollum's cunning and agility to their advantage. Gollum's split personality presents players with a unique choice: yield to the darkness or embrace the remnants of Sméagol's gentler side.

Developed by a small team of Tolkien enthusiasts at Daedalic Entertainment in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with a physical edition for consoles also set for release.

In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, players will explore parts of Gollum's quest that have yet to be told in detail. From his time as a slave under the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood, the game offers a fresh perspective on Gollum's story. Players must use stealth, agility, and cunning to survive, with their decisions and playstyle directly influencing Gollum's personality. Players will face the constant struggle between Gollum's darker side and the remnants of Sméagol's sanity, determining which side prevails.
