Space Accident reported on Steam and GOG

Usually nothing much good can come from the words "space accident," but if there's one exception it's indie developer Whale Rock Games' recently released environmental physics puzzler with that title.

It's 2119, and technology has finally evolved enough to allow the "colonial development" of other celestial bodies in the solar system. One such mission is the Callisto Colonization Mission (CCM-1), whose objective is to colonize Callisto, one of Jupiter's many moons. Players step into the first-person space boots of Andy Freeman, a "technical engineer of the Zeus-M700 spacecraft, sent on an expedition" to accomplish that goal. As the game's name suggests, however, something goes very wrong along the way, and it'll be up to you find a way to fix it.

As with most Portal-styled adventures, Space Accident is a free-roaming first-person physics puzzler in which you must solve a variety of "difficult" challenges in order to progress. You'll need to pay close attention to learn the "intricacies" of the evolving game mechanics, requiring you to activate touch panels, redirect lasers, and change the properties of energy fields, among some of the various tasks involved in repairing the problem on board your ship and hopefully live to tell the tale. You'll also want to keep an eye out for electronic "story notes" that will shine more light on what happened to bring about your current predicament.

Following its recent stealth launch, Space Accident is available now to download on Steam and GOG for Windows PC.
