Rocco’s Island: Ring to End the Pain appears on horizon

If making our pain go away were as easy as ringing a bell, we'd probably all grab the rope and heave without a moment's hesitation. But what if the consequence of such an action meant the destruction of an entire island and its inhabitants? This is the fate that awaits us in Cogoo's upcoming sci-fi/fantasy adventure, Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain.

At six years old, Evelyn was found abandoned with no memory of her life before that. She felt isolated and alone, and yet managed to become one of the top students in her academy. A decade later, it appears history is repeating itself when Evelyn awakens on a beach, again with no recollection of how she got there. She's entranced by the unusual surroundings and is particularly drawn to a large ancient bell that's covered in thick vines. Engraved on the bell are drawings and barely legible letters that spell out, "RING TO END THE PAIN." Desiring that very thing, Evelyn rings it but in the process she inadvertently brings about "the end of Rocco's Island." If she's to undo this wrong and restore this mysterious island once again, she must now embark on an epic adventure "across 30,000 years of time" to transform the troubled kingdoms of Four Elementals.

Rocco's Island is a traditional 2D hand-painted point-and-click adventure set in a "mystic world" whose former glory is now faded and decayed. Here the young protagonist will meet a variety of "strange" fantastical creatures and solve numerous puzzles along the way. In order to succeed, ultimately players will need to help King Felipe, the Water Elemental who has "taken the form of the legendary yeti of the old Himalayas" and suffers from a heavy heart burdened by tragedy; the protective but hot-tempered Fire Elemental Queen Barta in her guise as a wolf; King Tahvo the Earth Elemental who greedily hoards knowledge to himself; and the aloof but majestic Air Elemental Queen Gael, who heavily exudes "a sense of superiority over beings without wings." The tasks facing young Evelyn are not easy, but the journey promises to lead to an "epic finale with shocking reveals."

It's a bit too soon for a specific release date, but Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain isn't far off as it's expected to launch on Steam for Windows PC sometime before the end of the year.
