PCI Public Crime Investigation underway on Steam
Normally we wannabe sleuths can only pretend to be detectives in investigative mysteries, but in indie developer PCI Agent's recently released PCI Public Crime Investigation, we can be ourselves and still bring criminals to justice from the comfort of our own homes.
With crime running rampant, the French government has initiated its PCI program to enlist citizens to help the police by solving cases over the internet. Six distinct cases await resolution, ranging from thirty minutes to four hours (with most settling somewhere near the middle), including an apparent suicide of a woman "found dead with her veins slit in the middle of a swimming pool" and a variety of murders, such as a "great chef found dead with his head in his plate" and an actor who was "full of talent [but] will never see Broadway."
Described as a "realistic and immersive criminal investigation game," PCI is an FMV thriller with "unique gameplay and style" filmed with live actors. In order to discover the truth in each case, players will need to "collect evidence, conduct searches, find the murderers and their motives and make sure that justice is served." To do that, you'll need to make your way through a series of "video statements, interactive dialogues, photos of crime scenes and clues, interactive police interrogation videos" and more. Fortunately your handy case file will help you keep track of all important evidence you discover along the way.
Releasing quietly without fanfare late last month, PCI Public Crime Investigation is available to download on Steam for Windows PC.
