Leeward breezes onto PC with Episode 1 release

The life of a fisherman's daughter is normally a quiet and uneventful one, but nothing could be further from the truth for the young star of Leeward, a three-part point-and-click island adventure from indie two-man developer Esteras Bros that has just debuted on PC.

Players control a little girl named Wendy, who arrives at her family's fish shop one day to discover no sign of her father. Convinced he's no longer on their little tropical island in the middle of the ocean, Wendy hops into a boat and sets out to search for him throughout the neighbouring islands.

Presented in a vivid hand-drawn cartoon style and promising to be "full of black and absurd humor," Leeward is a largely traditional adventure in which players will navigate a variety of locations ranging from beaches, bars and forests to docks, sailing ships and even an undead army camp. There you'll interact with a very eclectic cast of characters – some living, some not, all quirky and strange – and collect items to solve puzzles in order to progress. Where the game departs somewhat from the norm is in its keyboard control (with mouse to interact) and the occasional minigame thrown in for a change of pace.

Projected to take approximately three hours to complete, Leeward: Episode 1 is available now for Windows PC exclusively on itch.io
