Indie developer Laserblast Studios gets cracking on Thin Ice

Fishing is a dangerous sport – mostly for the fish, but sometimes for the anglers themselves, depending on where exactly they're casting their lines. It'll be up to players to find out what happened to a missing fisherman in indie developer Laserblast Studios' upcoming retro-styled adventure, Thin Ice

Hunter Sanderson headed off as usual on his annual ice fishing trip near the remote northern village of Sandy Lake, but this year he never came home. And so his wife Sadie takes it upon herself to bundle up and visit the "beautiful and mysterious" town in person to seek answers about what happened to him. There she finds much more than she bargained for, as she will "meet curious characters, solve challenging puzzles and uncover what lies beneath the surface of this idyllic setting."

Presented in an old-school pixel art style, Thin Ice is a traditional point-and-click adventure in which you have just one goal: "follow the clues and discover the truth behind Hunter's disappearance." That will be easier said than done, of course, as not everyone will be entirely forthcoming, forcing you to rely on your wits and the items you collect if you're to overcome the many obstacles that stand in the way and succeed in your investigation.

It's too early for a target release date just yet, but Thin Ice is on pace to launch on Steam for Windows PC sometime next year.
