The Psychological Horror Game Medium, Will Soon Be Available on Mac

Polish game developer, Bloober Team, has announced that their third-person psychological horror game, The Medium, will be available natively on every Apple silicon-powered Mac later this summer. The game, first launched in 2021, features dual-reality gameplay that plays out across two separate worlds displayed simultaneously.

The Medium follows Marianne, a psychic investigating the abandoned Hotel Niwa in search of answers about her past. Players can explore both the physical and the spirit world simultaneously and use the interactions between them to solve dual-reality puzzles, unlock new paths, and awaken memories of past events. The spirit world is a dark mirror reflection of our reality, inspired by the paintings of Polish dystopian surrealist Zdzisław Beksiński. The original soundtrack, co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka, enhanced the game's incredible visuals.

The game takes full advantage of Metal, the software that powers hardware-accelerated graphics on Apple platforms, providing smooth and responsive gameplay with high frame rates and stunning visuals. Combined with the game-changing performance of Apple silicon and the power of macOS, the Mac lineup delivers an incredible gaming experience. Users can play The Medium on any Mac with Apple silicon, including the desktop lineup of Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Studio, and the MacBook Air laptops and MacBook Pro.
