First details burst out for Blood Nova
Thoughout history, royal succession has often been fraught with intrigue and peril. And if Cosmic Void's upcoming science fantasy adventure Blood Nova is any indication, it will continue to be far into the future and across the entire universe.
The mighty Velayan Empire has enjoyed peace and prosperity for centuries, even as the galaxies surrounding it, "connected to the empire by a string of star channels," are mired in conflict and war. Now the Velayan empress is set to abdicate her throne, and the next in line is her reluctant eldest daughter, Princess Love. There are those who would prevent her from claiming the crown, however, and "when Love becomes the target of conspirators seeking to thwart her ascension, she becomes trapped aboard an interstellar lighthouse, with only her best friend and protector, Kel Yakkavan, by her side." Together the two of them must "expose the threat and save the empire before time runs out."
As with Corruption Within, the developer's previous game, Blood Nova is a modern point-and-click pixel art adventure with a first-person slideshow-style perspective. In this tale of intergalactic conspiracy, players will find themselves exploring the lighthouse called The Looping Vale, "solving creative puzzles and meeting a cast of eccentric characters, each with their own hidden motivations and desires" along the way. With enemies seeking to do her harm, it's not just the princess's title you'll need to defend, but her very life.
While Blood Nova isn't due to launch on Steam for Windows PC until late next year, a demo is coming soon and a Kickstarter campaign expected in January to help finance production.
