Pnevmo-Capsula: Domiki rolls onto Windows, Mac and Linux

Usually the term "on rails" refers to a highly linear experience over which the player has little control. But sometimes it's meant far more literally than that, as is the case in Pomeshkin Valentin Igorevich's recently released steampunk adventure, Pnevmo-Capsula: Domiki

Players control a "pneumatic tube trolley" that must progress from one house to another, all situated along a long, winding track that travels both indoors and out. As you traverse this "world of rails, wires and pipes," you must avoid falling or running into other traps as you "open rails, portals, mechanical mail boxes" and "find and activate hidden mechanisms such as springs, telephones and various incandescent lamps" along the way to make your way through and proceed to each new destination.

The world of Pnevmo-Capsula is based on an alternate-reality Russia of the 1970s. Society here has developed under "harsh" communist rule and is "dominated by bulky analog electronics." Although fictional, the experience is meant to recreate an authentic Soviet feel, from architecture and mechanics to wallpaper and propaganda advertisements. Despite the game's untranslated title, however, all necessary in-game content has been localized into English.

If you're ready to get rolling on Pnevmo-Capsula: Domiki, there's no need to wait, as the game is available now on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux.
