Raw April Day just a few months away

It's easy to misplace small things in one's apartment, but the protagonist of Headless Human's upcoming Raw April Day has lost something much bigger and more important: her husband. Then again, this is no ordinary apartment, as we'll find out for ourselves next spring.

The game stars a woman named Jacqueline as she attempts to track down her husband Vincent, who has gone missing somewhere in their Victorian-era complex. Unfortunately, what she finds instead is "a world gone topsy turvy." Here in this "surreal and mystifying" place, "eight-year-old insomniacs living in treehouses act like noir detectives, geriatric opera singers dressed to the nines daydream about romantic escapades, and broken financiers search for a meaningful life." The deeper Jacqueline digs, the more "increasingly chaotic" her "journey through Vincent's articulately constructed puzzle room" becomes in a story that promises to be as much "about human connection as a cautionary tale about the perils of youthful reckless abandon."

Set in post-WWI England and presented in a hand-painted third-person art style, Raw April Day tasks players with thoroughly exploring this unusual building in traditional point-and-click adventure game fashion. Along the way you will need to collect and combine inventory items, solve "enigmatic" puzzles, and "engage in soul-searching branching dialogue with colorful characters" you meet if you're to piece together the clues for where Vincent is and why he disappeared.

Contrary to its title, Raw April Day is due to arrive a month before that, with a scheduled launch date on Steam set for March 1, 2022 for Windows PC. To follow its progress in the meantime, you can sign up for the developer's newsletter at the official website.
