Ask what’s next for DONTNOD and they’ll say Tell Me Why

With the second season of Life Is Strange due to wrap up on December 3rd, already DONTNOD Entertainment is looking ahead to what's next, as the acclaimed French developer announced their next project Tell Me Why at X019, Microsoft's Xbox fan convention in London.

The game is set in the fictional small town of Delos Crossing, Alaska, where twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan are reunited and join forces to "use their special bond to unravel mysteries of their loving but troubled childhood." Each twin has their own distinct but sometimes conflicting memories of the traumatic events that occurred in their youth, so as players "interact with memories of the past, you will make choices that determine the strength of the unique bond that Tyler and Alyson share—and shape the future course of the twins' lives."

As is customary for DONTNOD, Tell Me Why is a 3D third-person adventure that places a significant emphasis on dialogue and player choice to determine the outcome of the story. In this "intimate thriller," expect to encounter a "cast of intriguing, true to life characters and mature themes." Among them will be the challenges faced by Tyler himself, a transitioned young man voiced by a transgender actor and created in consultation with LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD.

The first DONTNOD game to be produced in collaboration with Microsoft, Tell Me Why will be released in three chapters, all launched within the summer of 2020 on Windows PC and Xbox One. To follow its progress and learn more about the game in the meantime, drop by the official website.
