SUPERLIMINAL draws attention to late 2019 release
The phrase "perception is reality" isn't really meant to be taken literally, except in the case of SUPERLIMINAL, the upcoming first-person environmental puzzler by Pillow Castle Games.
Players find themselves participating in the "SomnaSculpt Dream Therapy" program led by Dr. Glenn Pierce. Within a "Lynchian dream state" you'll quickly discover that "things are not always what they seem." Here you must "explore the ambiguity of perception and depth in this surreal world by manipulating objects in physical space according to their perspective." Only by figuring out how to "bend reality and perspective to [your] will" can you hope to ever escape this trap of your own mind.
SUPERLIMINAL plays much like a Portal-style adventure, with free-roaming first-person movement and a variety of obstacles to overcome. Players are encouraged to "literally think outside the box. Kick the box. Flip the box and get inside the box. Look up. Look back. There is no box!" For a better understanding of the "mind-bending, brain-boggling enigma" facing you, an extensive gameplay video shows off just some of the ways you'll be able to "move, change, and shift objects in order to solve puzzles."
Production on SUPERLIMINAL is well along already, so we should be seeing the game launching on PC later this year on the Epic Games Store.
