The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets to be unleashed this year

Losing a beloved pet can be a devastating experience, and finding one can be darn near impossible. Not so in Fast Travel Games' upcoming The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets, however, which looks to be a delightfully charming virtual reality rescue experience.

Created from the ground up exclusively for VR, The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets features a number of discrete and vividly designed miniature worlds to visit and manipulate. In order to help your grandfather figure out what happened to all the missing pets, you must "travel back to the imaginative adventures of your childhood and the worlds you created together." There you will "revisit a joyful past and the troubled relationship with your sister," and along the way you will "come to realize things about yourself you forgot decades ago."

With each world "full of vibrant life" and "playful interactions," you'll have to explore thoroughly in order to progress. You can't simply "peek behind a glowing volcano, lean in to investigate the top of that cottage or comb through the bottom of an icy lake," however, as you'll need to think creatively as well. What would happen, for example, if you used "a hairdryer to melt snow in a wintery landscape?" Solving light puzzles is achieved by being literally hands-on as you "grip, push, drop and spin the numerous interactive elements in each world to trigger clues or to reveal the hidden pets."

Although no firm launch date has yet been revealed, The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets is on track to be released sometime this year for Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, Valve Index, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality.
