Many adventure games involve a voyage of some kind, but the title of indie developer Venturous's upcoming side-scroller leaves no doubt about it.
Not to be confused with the 2005 Kheops adventure of the same name, this Voyage is designed to capture "the essence of shared exploration" in following the journey of "two survivors in search for answers of a long-forgotten past." While story details are sparse, in order to succeed the two protagonists must join forces to "embark on a voyage, unravel a mystery and find a way home together."
Voyage is described as a "cinematic" side-scrolling experience with stylish hand-painted graphics, as teased in the early screenshots and trailer unveiled. What really sets the game apart from many of its contemporaries, however, is that it allows for either two-player co-op or solo adventuring in order to overcome the obstacles in your path.
There is currently no target release date, but Voyage is scheduled to launch on Steam for Windows PC sometime later this year, with console availability still to be determined.
