Professor Layton confronts the Azran Legacy in November, then Phoenix Wright in 2014
What's better then confirmation of a brand new Professor Layton adventure in English speaking territories? How about confirmation of TWO? And what's still better than that? That the second one sees the top-hatted archeologist joined by everyone's favourite spikey-haired defense attorney, Phoenix Wright!
The latest Nintendo Direct presentation confirmed that two games previously released only in Japan will be coming to English speaking territories for Nintendo 3DS. The first is Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, which is due out in Europe on November 8th, and in North America in early 2014.
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright
Coming to both territories in early 2014 is perhaps the biggest combination of Japanese titans since Godzilla vs. Mothra, in a new crossover adventure called Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright. Co-developed by Level-5 and Capcom, this game promises to combine elements of both beloved franchises as you alternate controlling the two headline characters.
Plot details for the two games are still fairly sketchy for now (outside of Japan), but we'll be keeping a close eye on both in the coming months.
