Da New Guys wrestling with deadlines for February 29th launch

Just when you thought you'd found a genre free of mindless violence, along comes Da New Guys: Day of the Jackass, a new comic adventure set in the "peculiar world of professional wrestling" slated for release later this month.

Da New Guys features a trio of wrestlers named Brain, Simon, and Defender. When Brain, the "worst brawler in Wrestle Zone history" ends up with the title crown under rather dubious circumstances, an angry mob kidnaps him in protest. Now it's up to his pals to "get their buddy back and defend his unlikely title -- not to mention Da New Guys' Wrestle Zone reputation."

Designed by Chris Burton, Da New Guys began life as a freeware adventure released in 2005, followed by an animated short film three years later. Day of the Jackass marks the franchise's first commercial adventure launch, to be published through the Wadjet Eye Games website. The game will be available exclusively as a download except for those who order the Limited Edition CD version prior to the official launch on February 29th. The disc version includes "a Da New Guys cartoon short, exclusive collectable trading cards, and free shipping within North America. (International shipping is just $0.99.)"
